Sarah Bernhardt

 

Sarah began her stage career while a pupil at a small convent performing as the angel Raphael in Mere Sainte-Therese's Tobias Regains His Sight; 

Sarah has played in such roles as Iphigenie in Racine's Iphigenie; Valerie in Scribe/Melesvil's Valerie,  some of her many prominent roles include; Henriette in Moliere's Les Femmes Savants,  Hippolyte in Moliere's L'Etourdi, She was the featured performer at the Théâtre de l'Odéon, Paris from 1866 thru 1872.

Sarah formed her own theatre company toured extensively in Europe, Britain, and the United States. In her US National Tour she performed as  Therese in Emile Zola's Theres Raquin.
