Connecicut finest Musical Performer

 

Christopher Stone has been performing in the Hartford area for over 20 years. Based in Manchester, his most recent appearance was in the dual role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde in Little Theatre of Manchester’s 2004 production of Jekyll & Hyde – The Musical. His first appearance with LTM was as Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls. Since then some of Chris’ favorite LTM roles have been Dr. Craven in The Secret Garden, Miles Gloriosus in …Forum, Capt. Randolph in A Few Good Men; Bill in Applause, Applause, and the voice of the Plant in Little Shop of Horrors. Chris’ longest association, however, has been with the Manchester Musical Players for whom he currently serves as President. His favorite roles with MMP include Julian Marsh in 42nd Street; John Jasper in The Mystery of Edwin Drood; Fred/Petruccio in Kiss Me, Kate; Sir Evelyne in Anything Goes; Mr. Snow in Carousel; the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance; Tommy in Brigadoon and Parchester in Me & My Girl. Chris directed MMP’s productions of 42nd Street and A Little Night Music and also directs their summer cabaret. In April 2005, he will be directing Once Upon a Mattress for MMP. In Hartford, Chris appeared with the Producing Guild as Michael in I Do, I Do; Valentin in Kiss of the Spider Woman; Alfred/Lenny in Romance/Romance; the Narrator in Blood Brothers; Dr. Craven in Secret Garden; David in Company; and Carl Magnus in A Little Night Music. In addition to his theatrical work, Chris has appeared with the West Hartford Symphony on several occasions, both as a soloist and with the quartet, UnCommon Time. In other concert venues, he has been featured as both baritone and tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, as well as other concert pieces. Chris has performed at numerous churches in the Hartford area and has also sung night clubs in Hartford, Philadelphia and Martha’s Vineyard.
