With a PHENOMENAL 14 MUSICALS RUNNING,
August is a gem on Connecticut's superlative musical Calendar.
One could spend an evening in imperial Japan's royal courts
(Mikado), enjoy the tantalizing delights of a 1930's German
Cabaret (Cabaret), hang out in the American 1950's High School
culture (Grease), visit Paris in the 1950's (Amour); to name but
a few of the musical themes appearing on stage this month.
August also offer's Two Brand New Musical
Productions; Spirit of Broadway's "After the Fair" will touch
the heartstrings, as will Norma Terris's "Amour".and
promises to bring some outstanding quality to the stage. There
is still time to see the spectacular River Rep production of
Gilbert and Sullivan's
The Mikado
at the
Ivoryton Playhouse - this is one OUTSTANDING show !;
Outdoor theatre fun won't get any
better than Richter's grand
production of
The Sound of Music
! This show could have been written to be performed
outdoors!
Once again, the Connecticut Cabaret is
burning up the stage under Kris McMurray's masterful direction
with a superlative "Cabaret" - How often do you get to see
