January 2006 Connecticut Musicals Calendar
The 2006 January start features few selections but great
quality. The Spirit of Broadway is known for quality productions
and superlative performers, their Seussical should be a fine
show. Connecticut Cabaret will create a new lead with Melissa
Ingrisano starring as Cinderella in the renouned Rogers and
Hammerstein musical.
New Musicals
Traveling road shows
. Cathy Rigby will once again float across Connecticut Stages
as Peter Pan. This is to be Cathy Rigby's last tour in her
beloved role. If you want to enjoy a show and see history being
made, attend one of these final shows. Garde Arts Center will
stage Oklahoma for a mere 2 days, but this production has been
acclaimed in each host city.
Best Bet:
Spirit of Broadway's Seussical is garnering great reviews and
talk. With the opportunity to see this fun show in an up close
and personal black box theatre should be a rare treat. The
Spirit of Broadway routinely affords quality shows and
outstanding performers.
Worth the Risk: See Cinderella at the Connecticut
Cabaret, director / Producer Kris McMurray is one of
Connecticuts true stage-masters.
Do Not Miss:
Cathy Rigby's last tour of Peter Pan.
